Lighting Tecniques: Thanksgiving Assignment

When i was reading a magazine, this guy had explained how to do a panoramic on photo shop, well he had a mac computer, and NOT that it should matter, but everything on there, was NOT on our photo shop. so i had to do it manually. i took three pictures, and combined them together, to make it look longer, we were in closed in a silo, and there was lighting coming from the top. I really liked this, and i like how it is round, and you can tell its round, (gets smaller on the inside). Also in the magazine he had warped it, and i tried and it wasnt what i was expecting. but over all i like how it turned out. the snow reflected light off to his face, and the different colors, and the darkness of the walls give the picture contrast. I wish he would have been wearing something different.

- I used a black sheet for the background, and she was up against a fridge. i was experimenting with lighting from above, like i saw in this magazine of a guy with just the middle of his face lit up, and the light was comming from above. and it didn't work as well as i thought. we tried different locations of light, and positions, and this is the best we came up with. her hands are the highest contrast, and her face has grey, black and white tones. Shes Catching light. we tried many different tecniques, and this one turned out best, the contrast in the fridge, the back of her hands, and the front of her hands is great, and the fridge reflected light off.
My least favorite is this one, and it was orignionally was supposed to be a back lighting, but i was told to do another one. i wish i could have not put all the grain in it, and just had it blurry. she looks out of place (from the picture, looks like i just pasted her in there). The meaning behind this picture was lonleyness, insecurity, and discomfort. It was based off numerious events over the weekend, that left BOTH of us feeling that way. What better way to capture it then a portrait.
